Good afternoon, my fellow ghouls! Thank you to all the talented writers who participated this week — you guys continue to amaze me with your dedicated creativity.
The first Grammar Ghoul Giveaway will be happening in the last week of November, so put it in your schedules. In order to qualify for the draw, you’ll either have to participate in the writing challenge that week (GG Writing Challenge #9) — or become a supporting subscriber. All our supporting subscribers — be they Imps, Familiars, Minions, or Ghouls — are automatically entered into our giveaways. They also hold a very special place in our hearts, because they help to keep the ghouls fed and bathed.
Oh, and be sure to tell all your friends! If we get more than 13 participants in challenge #9, we’ll have two draws instead of one!
Don’t be crusty with your votes
Okay, now that the challenge is closed, voting is officially open! That means it’s time to read (or re-read) all the fabulous submissions and vote for your three (3) favourites (just click the little heart icon on the top right corner of your choices).
We’re pretty laid back here, but we do have a couple of rules about voting.
- • Read all of the submissions.
- • Don’t vote for your own submission. You already know how super-awesome you are!
If you’re wondering how to narrow down your selection, here are a few things to consider:
- • Who made the best/most creative use of the prompts?
- • Who nailed the flash fiction format (assuming they didn’t write poetry)?
- • Whose submission stayed with you (or kept you up at night)?
Who will be first to reach the après-ski?
Voting will close tomorrow at 6 p.m. and the winners will be announced on Wednesday at 8 a.m., along with the new challenge and prompts! Remember, if you have a suggestion for one of our prompts, you can put it on the forum in the Ghouls’ Lair. While you’re there, you should check out the other forums and take a minute to introduce yourself.
